Fake Friends Vs. Real Friends: Can You Tell the Difference?

Living in a world filled with deceit and betrayal makes it hard for us to trust, therefore making it even harder for us to build friendships. Every time you look up, you see backstabbing unforgivable situations going on around you, or you've probably been through it yourself. Life is all about taking risks because nothing is guaranteed to any of us. So, How can you tell if a 'friend' is really a friend?

Are you being supported or renounced? When times get rough, everyone needs someone to lean on whether it is for emotional, mental or financial support. Times are hard right now and one day this may become the case for many of us. When you go to your friend, and they immediately say no, or act as if they can't help you with whatever situation has you down, would you call that a friend? True enough, some individuals may not be in the greatest financial state to help, but what about words of encouragement, or just being there for you to be able to vent your frustrations? These two ideas involve no money, and can help just as well. If you have a true friend, they immediately try to place themselves in your shoes. They want to feel your pain and be a part of the healing process. If they tend to blow your problems off, or act as if they don't see why you feel the way you do, you might want to question them as a friend.

Can you trust them to be around your closest family...or boy/girlfriend? This is the one thing many of us dread....being backstabbed by your best friend. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this situation happen to others in my lifetime. It's a very painful situation to have to watch someone go through...and even more painful when you're the one going through it. When your boy/girlfriend is in the same room with your best friend and you feel like you have to set up a video camera just to be able to leave the room to go to the restroom, you might want to question them as a friend, as well as the boy/girlfriend.

Unfortunately, in this world of Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, camera phones, texting, etc., if you let someone into your virtual world - you have "let them in" to your world. My advice falls under the "Hindsight is 20/20" cliche unfortunately. If a person doesn't want "problems" like a 'fatal attraction'-type romance, then don't open the door to it. If you open the door, you must live with the consequences unfortunately. You will be the one who has to figure out how to end it - as you opened the door and let the person in.

You know I was so crabby yesterday and I have no idea why. Life isn’t perfect but it’s still great for me. Now I will NOT take back any of the Michael Jackson comments I made yesterday. I had the day off and let him have it just like a lot of people did on here.

Boy am I glad yesterday is over!

You know I have noticed that since I backed off exercising each morning, I don’t feel I have the same amount of energy by the end of the day. I don’t stay up as late and my patience is a little shorter at work, not a lot but just a little. Maybe I should go back to my usual early exercising before I head out for the day.

Anyway, today I felt great! Have you ever had a day when you woke up and everything in life was great but your mood, and almost everything irritates you?

I read that this Audi A8 was made in SILVER for a sheikh.....No, it's not silver in color. It is supposedly made out of silver.

Hum, I still doubt this information. And who would ride around in something like this anyway? I don’t find it luxurious. I actually find it quite tacky.

Michael Jackson's death..OH God! When will the news die!!!

I don’t mean to sound disrespectful. I know this man changed things within the music industry and opened a lot of doors for upcoming African American artist everywhere, and that's a good thing. But I will be sooooo glad when tomorrow comes and goes, as you know Michael's funeral is happening. Reportedly, people only wanted free tickets to this event so that they could sell them on Ebay. One pair of tickets was going for $8000 yesterday on Ebay. So not that many people want to go, they just want to gain money from his death.

News coverage on this man shows during almost every commercial break. And CNN just won’t shut up about him. Reportedly, CNN is repeating far too much of the same things. Yeap, they report so-called news that most of us don’t care to hear about or have already heard 50 times already. Starting at 6 am tomorrow morning (July 7th), it's going to be constant coverage throughout the day on his funeral. So if we want to be informed about what else is going on IMPORTANT in the world, we just have to tune in, look down, and read the quick scrolls of short information rolling by on the bottom of the CNN screen. And you know the things that keep popping up in front of me on television look almost insane now.

After tomorrow the noise will hopefully start to die down. Michael Jackson was a singer that won Grammies and crossed a lot of lines, including paying $20 million dollars to a child’s family for their silence when molestation charges came about for the first of TWO times.

Again, I don’t mean to be rude because I know his history too. I am well aware that Michael was just a singer. No, he was NOT royalty, a mighty King that has done a great many things for millions in his country and for others around the world. Michael was not a political figure and could never make a treaty for peace...he just sang songs and made great creative videos. He couldn’t even work his own finances right. Three days before his death Michael reportedly paid $13,000 for two paintings to place inside his rented home, knowing that he was well over 300 million dollars in debt.

I just want to hear the real news now on television. There are so many things going on in the world that truly need to be reported on now, not much later or only briefly spoken about. I truly understand why so many people are irritated with seeing Michael Jackson's face all over their televisions almost 24/7.

It is amazing how a few kind words and fresh advice can have such a powerful impact. A few days ago I posted how I had lost my family and was feeling so alone. A couple of people responded with words of kindness and wise advice, and I can see the sun again! And, to pass along to anyone who is feeling down, it is okay to feel sad, it shows we are human - as one of my friends on Sugar said, "life circles", tomorrow is a new day, your life is always changing - even if you don't feel it or know it. "Begin journaling" - write down your feelings or even doodle how you feel. And, if you come across someone who is down (at the bottom), feeling alone, a few kind words from a stranger can make a huge difference and you can reap the benefits of knowing you made a change.

Lost My Family-my heart is shattered.....

I was the only girl and the youngest and always felt a special bond with my father. Now, within a few months, and a lot of hateful words after desparately needing help from my family, I lost them all....... I guess there was an "expiration date" on love and support from my family. I feel so ALONE................

Now knowing that we don’t give out Christmas gifts to the immediate family, (only brothers, sister, and her) my irritating mother got a gift anyway this year. While we were out a few weeks ago, (on the day she irritated me beyond belief), I was shopping with my friends and her. She went on and on and on about how she had bought herself a new Wii game system and how it would be sooooo nice if she had the extra parts to go with it.

Well, I ended up paying for two remotes and a CD with 9 games on it. I just heard yesterday from another party that she’s not keeping the Wii game system. She’s planning to take it back to the store and all of its accessories. Now if I’m guessing right here and I believe that I am, I think she’s going to return my gift and get money back off of it too or at least get a gift card.

Sure, we've all returned Christmas gifts before, so what, it happens.

But why in the hell do people nag you about what Christmas gifts that they want so badly, and then when you finally buy it for them they then take it back to the store?

Yeap, just one of her spiteful actions again. She knows there’s no gift giving and when she gets one anyway, she still has a complaint. You know if it isn’t one thing it’s another.
